LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – On Tuesday, The Hub City BBQ Facebook page posted an announcement that this year’s BBQ Cookoff will have a different look.
The biggest difference this year is that the event will be for Chamber members, and not open to the general public.
This years event will be Tuesday, Sept. 22 and Wednesday, Sept. 23 at Cooks Garage.
According to the Facebook post, the Chamber will kick things off with a “Ribs & Raiders Dinner.”
This will be a Tuesday night event, that will be a member-focused experience designed for meaningful business connections.
The dinner event will be from 6pm- 10pm. There will be live music, a raffle, a silent and live auction and much more.
According to the Facebook post, 11 Pitmaster Chef teams will prepare and cook the meat for all attendees.
All proceeds from the auction will support High Point Village.

The next day (Wednesday, Sept. 23) will be “The Classic Cook Off,” where teams compete in 5 categories.
The event will conclude immediately after the awards and teams will load up and depart Cooks Garage after the awards ceremony.
Again, the Hub City BBQ wants to the remind the public that no public tickets will be sold this year.
Hub City BBQ says they know this year will look a little different, and with the changes comes a new sponsorship layout and a different check in process.
Officials say they will be in touch closer to the event with additional details.
