CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A woman accused of fatally shooting a 42-year-old man in Corpus Christi appeared in court today for a status hearing.

Mercedee Nicole Molina is charged in connection with the death of John David Dominguez.

During today’s hearing, Molina’s attorney requested that the trial docket date be reset due to scheduling conflicts.

The court acknowledged the request as proceedings continue in the case.

The charge stems from an incident on August 25, 2023, when Corpus Christi police responded to a reported shooting at a home on 17th Street.

When officers arrived, they found Dominguez suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.

An expected trial date has been set for June 15, though any changes to the docket are pending court approval.
