BASTROP COUNTY, Texas — Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating a four-vehicle crash that sent six people to the hospital on Monday afternoon.

According to DPS, troopers responded to the crash on State Highway 71 near Bob Wire Road on Feb. 16, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m.

Preliminary information indicates the crash happened when a vehicle failed to yield the right-of-way while exiting a parking lot.

Authorities say five people were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals for treatment. One additional person was airlifted by StarFlight with incapacitating injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
