FORT WORTH – Nancy Joyce Carpenter, 86, passed away on February 11, 2026. Nancy was born on November 18, 1939, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents, Emmanuel and Laura Puma. She attended Our Lady of Victory Elementary to High School. She learned to play Accordion at a young age and performed at school events and on The Pat Boone Show. She met her soulmate, Charlie Carpenter, at the Edelweiss German Restaurant, where they played music many years together. After Edelweiss, they played Elks lodges, clubs and private parties as CC & CO. They were well known around FW and Dallas. After Charlies passing, she opened up three Bingo Halls, South West Bingo Palace, Las Vegas Bingo and Bingo Garden. The halls were her pride and joy. Being Italian she loved to cook and have parties. No one ever left the house without a to go bag. She loved her dogs from childhood and the many that came after. She had three giant schnauzers and a basset hound that she adored. Then came the great danes in 1986 to 2026, she loved and spoiled them all and Boo and Bochy miss their grand-mommy dearly. Her favorite thing to do was go to Las Vegas, New Orleans and Winstar. We had so much fun on those trips win or lose- however she won most of the time. Nancy lived her life in Fort Worth. During her first marriage, she had two children, Pam and Scott. She married Charlie Carpenter in 1972, and they played gigs all over the city until his passing in 1982. She moved from the house she and Charlie shared to the house she and I shared now. She fell in love with it when she saw it, known as Hildring House or Party Central. The day she moved in she stated loud and clear that the only way she would leave this house was “FEET FIRST”, and that is exactly what she did. Nancy had a heart of gold and was the most generous person, she would do anything for you without hesitation. She loved life, family and friends. She had a wicked since of humor and a beautiful smile. When she walked into a club the band would play “Nancy with the laughing face”… She was preceded by her husband, Charlie Carpenter; son, Scott Carpenter; parents, Emmanuel and Laura Puma; brothers, Maurice Puma and Gene Puma; and sisters, Patricia Holmes and Sarah Lowe. Nancy is survived by daughter, Pamela Carpenter; grandson, Rykr Carpenter and wife Erin; two great-grandchildren, Isom and Ivy Carpenter; as well as her nieces, nephews, and cousins; and great danes, Boo and Bochy.
