LUBBOCK, Texas–Court documents obtained by EverythingLubbock.com Monday revealed that Dedrick Traylor, 49, has been charged with an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon in connection with a shooting at the Executive Inn in July of 2025 that left 34-year-old Keyarie Wartson seriously injured.

EverythingLubbock.com previously reported that a call came in around 6:45 p.m., and officers arrived on scene in the 4400 block of Avenue Q and located Wartson with multiple gunshot wounds.
During the investigation, police discovered an unknown male, later identified as Traylor, shot Wartson, causing him to flee to a nearby room for assistance.
Arrest made in connection with deadly Lubbock Airbnb shooting
Traylor was later arrested in Taylor County on October 9, 2025, and transferred to the Lubbock County jail.
Traylor is currently booked into the Lubbock County Detention Center on a bond totaling $150.000.
