News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

No. 24 Texas A&M rode four home runs and nine hits to triumph over A&M-Corpus Christi in midweek action, 8-3, from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park Tuesday night.

Eight Aggies recorded a hit, and a trio of freshman belted home runs in the win. Nico Partida drilled a solo shot for his second homer of the season, while Boston Kellner and Jorian Wilson each blasted the first round-trippers of their respective careers.

Kellner’s two-run shot in the sixth inning gave Texas A&M (4-0) its first lead of the contest, 3-2. After the Islanders knotted things up at three in the top half of the seventh, Wilson mauled the first pitch of his at-bat 387 feet to put the Maroon & White back in front, 5-3.

Bear Harrison smashed his first home run of the season in the eighth to add an insurance run for the Aggies, followed by a Terrence Kiel II single that brought home two more.

Gavin Lyons worked 5.0 innings as the starter, allowing four hits, two runs and struck out a career-high six batters. Ethan Darden (1-0) earned the win out of the bullpen. The senior dealt 2.0 innings with three punchouts and allowed one run on two hits.

Juan Vargas and Clayton Freshcorn closed the door on the win in the final two frames. Both right-handers tossed 1.0 scoreless inning and combined for four strikeouts.
