Whenever someone comes to visit El Paso it’s almost a given that when they ask for food recommendations someone is going to suggest Chico’s Tacos.

Whether you love Chico’s Tacos or not you must admit that it is an El Paso staple. For many locals, Chico’s isn’t just about taste, it’s nostalgia, late-night memories, and a uniquely El Paso experience.

However, one Taco influencer wasn’t such a fan when he stopped by the iconic taco spot.

Taco Fiend Is NOT A Fan of Chicos Tacos

The Taco Fiend, known on TikTok and Instagram for traveling across the U.S. in search of the best tacos, recently made a stop in El Paso as part of his mission to review tacos in all 50 states, and eventually the world. One of his must-try locations? The legendary Chico’s Tacos.

After his visit, he shared a review that quickly sparked debate. He shared a video of himself tasting the tacos inside of his car with a friend and his post read:

 

The green salsa at Chico’s Tacos in El Paso is MAGICAL! Sadly that is the only thing that’s good from this place. In my opinion that is.

El Pasoans Had Some Thoughts On Taco Fiends Opinion

Some El Pasoans agreed with Taco Fiend, saying Chico’s isn’t quite what it used to be. Others jumped to defend the hometown staple, arguing that taking the tacos to-go and eating them in a car simply isn’t the same as enjoying them fresh inside the restaurant. 

The Taco Fiend didn’t stop there. He also visited Track One and Don Trompo Taqueria, highlighting more of the city’s taco scene.

Love it or hate it, one thing’s for sure: when it comes to Chico’s Tacos, El Paso will always have something to say.
