Y’all know me, and you know that I love a good road trip recommendation. I’ve also got a few recommendations to give out myself. This time, my road trip recommendation is none other than San Antonio.

Let’s check out just a few of the reasons to travel out to SA.

Talk 103.9 & 1340 logoSan Antonio Sports Options

One of the things that people don’t generally talk about when going to San Antonio is catching one of the local sporting events. Obviously, my first choice would be making my way out to the Frost Bank Center to see some hoops action from the San Antonio Spurs. As a lifelong Spurs fan, that’s about as close to a “must-see” as you get.

However, don’t skip over the chance to see the San Antonio Missions play. Just because they’re a minor-league baseball team doesn’t mean that a night out at the ballpark watching them play won’t be entertaining. Honestly, any time spent at the ballpark is a good time.

San Antonio Cuisine is Top-Notch

Of course, one of the top things to consider – if not THE top thing – when taking a road trip is food. Where is the best food located? Well, San Antonio has pretty much all of the things. Mexican food, steak, seafood, sushi, vegetarian (not my thing, but if it’s yours, they’ve got those options…), burgers, Italian…like I said, ALL of the things.

I mean, considering that the Texas location for the Culinary Institute of America is in San Antonio, the food-scene should be pretty good, right?

Meander Down the River Walk (Duh.)

In my opinion, a trip to San Antonio isn’t complete without going to the River Walk. Yes, I know that it sounds old hat, like it’s been overdone, but it really is a fun experience each time you go. Plus, it’s close enough to things like the Alamo and the Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum, so there are additional options as well.

This is really just scratching the surface – barely – of a road trip to San Antonio. There are tons of other options, but this is a pretty good starting point, I think. Enjoy!
