Mi Cocina, a staple of the North Texas Tex-Mex scene, will open a new location at Dallas Love Field, officials confirmed.

DALLAS — Soon, Dallas travelers will be able to sip a Mambo Taxi before heading to the taxiway at Love Field.

Mi Cocina, the local Tex-Mex chain known for its margaritas and fajitas, will open a location at Dallas Love Field, according to state filings and airport officials.

A spokesperson for Dallas Love Field said in a statement that the airport is excited to welcome Mi Cocina, but the project is in very early stages. They did not provide an estimated timeline for opening.

Mi Cocina will take over and renovate the space that used to belong to Cool River Cafe, which is currently located in the main dining area of the terminal, according to a filing from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The renovation is expected to begin in June and be finished by August of this year, according to the filing, which is not an official timeline.

WFAA reached out to M Crowd Restaurant Group, which operates Mi Cocina and HMSHost, which operates dining options at Love Field, but did not immediately hear back.Â
