AUSTIN, Texas — This American Heart Month, actress and director Aisha Tyler is encouraging adults to take control of their blood pressure, highlighting its role in preventing heart disease.

Joined by Dr. Yvonne Commodore-Mensah, Tyler shared her personal connection to heart health and emphasized the importance of realistic, actionable steps for maintaining healthy blood pressure.

Uncontrolled high blood pressure affects nearly half of U.S. adults and is often called the “silent” threat because it can go unnoticed for years.

The CDC Foundation’s Hypertension Control Alliance recently launched the Hypertension Bites campaign to help people create manageable, everyday strategies for keeping their blood pressure under control. Tyler and Dr. Commodore-Mensah stress the value of awareness, preventive care, and practical lifestyle adjustments to improve heart health for individuals and families.
