In Loving Memory of Betty Anne Brooks 1930 – 2025 Betty Anne Brooks was born in Fort Worth, Texas to Clara and William Henry Miller Sr. on July 18, 1930. She was the youngest of five children including William Henry Miller Jr., Paul Miller, Elinore Miller Peters, and Richard Miller. She grew up on the Southside of Fort Worth and attended Pascal High School. In 1946 she met Rester A. Brooks Jr., shortly after his discharge from the Army. R. A., as he was known, was quite taken with her and pursued her vigorously. They were married in April of 1946 while she was still in High school. After graduating from High School Betty Anne attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth majoring in Religious Education. After Betty Anne and R.A. graduated from TWC R.A began attending Seminary at SMU’s Perkins School of Theology. R.A. began serving as a Methodist Minister while still attending Seminary. They spent the next twenty years at various postings of Methodist Churches throughout the North Central Texas Conference of the Methodist Church. During this time R.A. and Betty Anne welcomed five children into their lives, Leigh Ann, Stephen, Kay, Ray, and Joy. After Twenty years in the Methodist Church R.A. felt a new calling on his life and was led to start a new Ministry concentrating on Prayer Counseling and Biblical teaching. Betty Anne began attending College again at Howard Payne University and TCU to get her Education degree and her Teachers Certificate. In 1970 Betty Anne and R.A. and a group of faithful believers founded Christian Ministries Inc. as a fulfillment of their vision to provide teaching, counseling, and prayer to all those in need. For the next nineteen years she and R. A. were available all times of the Day or Night to meet with and pray with anyone who was in troubled, in pain or experiencing all number of spiritual or emotional crisis. In December of 1989 R.A. passed away after more than forty years of serving the Lord. It was then that Betty Anne became President of Christian Ministries, Inc. and an ordained minister. She served in that capacity for next 35 years teaching and leading meetings and prayer groups from then until the last few months of her life due to deteriorating health. She is survived by her Children Leigh Ann Triplett, Stephen (Tracie) Brooks, Kay (Randal) Kraft, Ray (Polona) Brooks, and Joy Brooks as well as her Grandchildren James (Elizabeth) Brooks, Tiffany Mendez, Brandon (Stacy) Brooks, Tyler (Janie) Smith, Ethan Brooks, William Brooks, Julianna Brooks, Martin Brooks and Paulina Brooks. In addition, she has Great Grandchildren Casche Brooks, Stella Brooks, Walker Mendez, Whitney Mendez, Harris Brooks, Shepard Brooks, Libby Brooks, Parker Smith, and Emma Smith. She had many Spiritual children and grandchildren as well. Betty will be having a graveside service, Friday October 10th, @ 10:00 AM, at Laurel Land Memorial Park, located at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, Texas 76134.
