All southbound lanes of I-35E at Illinois in Dallas closed due to overturned 18-wheeler, officials says

All lanes of I-35E at Illinois Ave. have been shut down after an 18-wheeler overturned Wednesday night, officials say.

In a social media post, the Dallas County Sheriff’s office says the accident happened in the southbound lanes, and the driver is not injured.

Officials say the trailer is blocking all lanes of traffic and leaking fuel and that Dallas Fire and Rescue’s hazmat team has been called.

TxDOT images show traffic at a standstill along the highway, as drivers are being diverted to 12th St as first responders work the scene.
