LUBBOCK, Texas —  No. 15 Baylor struggled to recover from a fast start by Texas Tech and fell 87-56 on Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena.

Baylor (22-6, 11-4 Big 12 Conference) trailed 22-15 after the first quarter and 48-28 at halftime as Texas Tech shot 55.7% from the field and 38.1% from 3-point range. The Bears were limited to 36.4% shooting (20 of 55) and went 3 of 17 from beyond the arc. Texas Tech forced 21 turnovers and converted them into 19 points.

Texas Tech (24-4, 11-4 Big 12) extended its lead to as many as 35 points in the fourth quarter. Baylor trimmed the deficit to 15 during its strongest stretch in the third period but could not get closer.

Taliah Scott and Darianna Littlepage-Buggs each scored 13 points to lead Baylor, with Scott making seven free throws. Kiersten Johnson grabbed six rebounds, including four offensive boards. Jana Van Gytenbeek and Yuting Deng each recorded three assists.

Baylor returns to Waco for two home games, hosting Arizona on Saturday at 7 p.m. before facing Kansas State on Monday at 6 p.m. CT.
