From cultural celebrations to rodeos and throwdowns, here are 10 events taking place this weekend that offer a little bit of everything. This list is not comprehensive, and details are subject to change.

Lone Star Throwdown

The Lone Star Throwdown returns with 2,000 show vehicles that will be competing for one of the top 100 awards at the Lone Star Expo Center and Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Valley Ranch Round Up

Valley Ranch invites families for a Western-themed event featuring live music, a Western photo-op, a petting zoo, face painting, a balloon twister and a mechanical bull.

Heart Ball

Hosted by the Fulshear Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Valentine’s-themed ball features a live band, flowers and an open bar.

Heights Rodeo

The Houston Heights Association is throwing the neighborhood’s first rodeo at the historic fire station. The event will include fun for the whole family, local vendors, music and food.

Woodson Black Fest

Celebrate Black History Month with spoken word performances, poetry and music at the fifth annual Woodson Black Fest at the Contemporary Arts Museum Houston.

Lunar New Year Festival

The festival at the Pearland Recreation Center will include a lion and dragon dance, Chinese paintings, traditional music and other cultural activities to welcome the new year.

Families can celebrate the Lunar New Year at the University Branch Library by learning about the culture and history of the Lion Dance before a performance.

Mardi Gras Mambo

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Nathan & The Zydeco will perform at the Charles Bender PAC.

Daddy Daughter Dance

The groovy-themed dance at Friendswood Junior High has two time slots available and includes dinner, dessert and dancing.
