BEAUMONT, Tex. (WIBW) – Kansas couldn’t take three of four games to wrap up it’s Texas road trip. The Jayhawks lost their lone game to Lamar on Wednesday night, 4-1, to finish their first 4 games of the season with a 2-2 record.
Kansas’ lone run came in the 3rd inning on a Max Soliz Jr. walk with the bases loaded.
Mason Cook threw 5 shutout innings in his first start of the season, striking out 6 and allowing just 1 hit.
Lamar took a 4-1 lead in the 7th inning on a 3-run homer with 2 outs.
The Jayhawks return to action on Friday when they open a three game series against McNeese State.
