The Plano Community Garden will host its 2026 kickoff meeting on Tuesday, March 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the downstairs conference room of the Plano Community Library.

Last year, the garden produced 11,566 pounds of produce for the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. The garden is located off Route 34 on Plano’s west side.

“Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just curious about getting your hands dirty for the first time, we have a place for you,” Community Garden President Mike Welz said. “Our community garden offers more than just a place to grow food—it’s a place to grow friendships, learn new skills, and contribute to a vital community resource. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in 2026.”

Applications for garden plots will also be available.
