LEANDER, Texas — A suspect was arrested for murder in connection with a fentanyl overdose case that occurred in April in Leander.
On Monday, Oct. 20, investigators from the Leander Police Department Special Investigative Unit arrested Michael Woodruff with assistance from the Cedar Park Police Department and Texas DPS Patrol.
Police say Woodruff is responsible for the fentanyl overdose death of 25-year-old Steven Hancock.
Woodruff faces a charge of murder – delivery of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

At the time of his arrest, Woodruff was found to be in possession of fentanyl and cocaine. He was subsequently transported and booked into the Williamson County Jail.
