After a five-hour executive session, the Princeton Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to extend the contract of PISD Superintendent Donald McIntyre by one year with a 3% raise in salary and benefits effective with the 2026-27 school year.
The Monday, Feb. 9, special meeting also included discussion of district goals with several suggestions made for change.
The general topic of the first goal was to “provide child-centered campuses that encourage all students to experience success” and Trustee Duane Kelly questioned the district’s inclusion model that provided for the special education students in mainstream classrooms rather than separate resource classrooms.
“I would like us to look at not doing inclusion and seeing what the alternatives will be,” he said.
