A 38-year-old man died Monday after he drove his vehicle the wrong way on the Dallas North Tollway and collided with another.

Michael Francis Cochlin died around 2:47 a.m. at a local hospital, according to the Dallas County Medical examiner’s office.

Texas Department of Public Safety officials said two vehicles collided around 2:10 a.m. on the tollway near Royal Lane.

The driver of a Hyundai Tucson, identified as Cochlin, was driving the wrong way by traveling northbound in the southbound lanes. DPS said the Hyundai collided head-on with a Land Rover Velar.

The driver and passengers inside the Land Rover were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, DPS said.

Their conditions remain unknown as of Thursday.
