Several residents filed to run in the May 2 Jersey Village City Council election for three open positions, according to a list of candidates from the city secretary.
The deadline to file for a place on the ballot was Feb. 13.
What you need to know
City Council Places 1, 4 and 5 are up for election May 2, currently held by council members Drew Wasson, Connie Rossi and Jennifer McCrea, respectively.
Rossi is running unopposed for reelection to her seat on the dais, the filings show. Wasson and McCrea are not seeking reelection, meaning two new faces will join the council later this year.

Something to note
The elected Jersey Village City Council members will serve two-year terms until May 2028, according to the city’s website.
April 2 is the last day to register to vote before the May 2 general election. Early voting is scheduled for April 20-28, according to the Texas secretary of state’s website.
