A massive dust storm enveloped the city of Lubbock in west Texas on Tuesday, February 17, as dry and windy conditions prompted weather officials to issue a red flag warning and blowing dust advisory in the region.

“Winds will be out of the southwest around 25-35 mph with gusts as high as 60 mph possible,” the National Weather Service warned.
