Editor’s note: Featured pets may be adopted quickly, but there are always others ready for their forever home.

At the Humane Society of North Texas, adoption is about changing lives, one match at a time. Learn more about adoptions at HSNT’s Fort Worth and Keller locations, or at off-site adoption events held six days a week at HSNT.org.
Valentine’s Day may have passed, but February is far from over when it comes to celebrating connection. At the Humane Society of North Texas, this month continues to be about meaningful matches and the quiet moments that turn into lifelong bonds.Â
This week’s featured pets offer two very different paths to companionship, each equally rewarding.
Billy, an estimated 3-year-old chinchilla, is a wonderful reminder that not all great companions bark or meow. Curious, gentle and active, Billy enjoys exploring his environment, hopping about and settling into calm moments once he feels comfortable. Chinchillas are known for their soft fur, playfulness and engaging personalities. Billy is no exception. For adopters looking for a small animal with charm and character, now is the perfect time — and the Humane Society of North Texas currently has several chinchillas available.
Dutch brings a much larger presence, both in size and heart. The 5-year-old Great Dane is a 100-pound teddy bear who lives up to his gentle reputation. Calm, affectionate and easygoing, Dutch enjoys being near his people and soaking up attention. He turns heads at first glance, then wins hearts the moment he leans in for affection.
Billy and Dutch may look like an unlikely pair, but together they highlight what love matches are all about. Love comes in many forms, and the right companion is often the one you least expect.
How to adopt
