Shorty’s to serve hot dogs, cocktails in downtown McKinney
Shorty’s menu will include hot dogs, smash burgers and a variety of sandwiches. The restaurant will also serve cocktails, wine and beer, according to its website. Co-owner Bryan McVay said he hopes to celebrate and share McKinney’s history through the restaurant.

Palestinian restaurant Ayat now open in Richardson
Ayat serves both traditional Palestinian dishes and new takes on Middle Eastern cuisine. Popular dishes include maklouba, a six-layer “upside down” dish of chicken, rice and vegetables, as well as mansaf, a stew of bone-in lamb chunks and yogurt sauce served over sajj bread and rice. This is the New York-based restaurant’s first Texas location.
Zio Al’s now open, offers late-night pizza, wings near UNT campus
The restaurant offers pizza, wings, sandwiches and pasta, and the location is open from 11-3 a.m., the company website states. There are currently 13 Zio Al’s in Dallas-Fort Worth, including locations in Allen, Frisco, Richardson, Flower Mound and McKinney, per the website.

Mike’s Chicken menu features a variety of fried chicken options including tenders, wings, dark meat, white meat and more. Additional menu items include sandwiches, salads, baked beans, french fries, coleslaw and more. Homemade sauces options include white cream gravy, Mike’s buffalo, ranch, honey mustard and more.
Maya Creamery & Lounge offers ice cream, sweet treats in Flower Mound
The business sells several traditional and Indian-inspired flavors of hand-rolled ice cream, and a selection of toppings. Customers can also purchase a type of Indian dessert drink called falooda, macarons, fruit tea and bubble tea.

Locally owned 88 BaoBao offers authentic Chinese, Chinese-American cuisine in Frisco, McKinney
Frisco resident Johnny Wong said that after seeing the success his cousin Kevin Chen’s restaurant, 88 BaoBao, was having in California, he and his wife, JoJo He, felt it was the perfect time to bring the concept to their hometown. Wong said Chen’s father, who has decades of restaurant industry experience, created the recipes used at 88 Baobao. Based on customer requests, the Frisco and McKinney menus feature more Chinese American dishes including orange chicken and broccoli beef, which have become fan favorites.
