Manvel City Council approved an updated fee schedule at its Feb. 18 meeting, officially eliminating the $5 to $10 animal registration fees previously approved Feb. 2.

The details

Following approval, the updated fee schedule will not require animal registration, but other fees, including fire protection and utility charges, remain unchanged.

Additionally, enforcement-related charges, such as the $30 first-day animal impound fee and $5 for each additional day, remain in effect, according to city documents.

The alarm registration fees will be updated at the Sept. 28 meeting to align with fiscal year 2026-27, according to city documents.

The background

Council members Harry Oplinger and Crystal Sarmiento introduced the proposal at the Feb. 2 meeting, stating that it was intended to simplify the registration process for residents and align Manvel’s practices with surrounding cities, as previously reported by Community Impact.
