FedEx is laying off nearly 100 employees at a location in the Alliance area of Fort Worth.
What’s happening?
A filing with the Texas Work Force Commission, submitted Dec. 29, noted 89 employees will be laid off March 2. The Working Adjustment and Retraining Notification, or WARN notice, stated the change will happen at the FedEx Ship Center location.
Documents state that the FedEx reorganization initiative, which began in 2022 to improve efficiency and profits, is the reason behind the layoffs.
Impacted employees can request transfers to other FedEx locations, take severance or take leave while seeking other roles in the company.
The Memphis-based company laid off 305 employees at the Logistics and Electronics site at 13500 Independence Parkway in the Alliance area in May. Those layoffs occurred in July, according to state documents.
According to WARN data, seven companies or organizations in Fort Worth filed in 2025 to layoff 986 employees.
