BaseBroz brought big energy to Whataburger Field, joining Islanders practice ahead of the Kleberg College Classic and meeting fans this weekend.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Internet sensation BaseBroz brought big league energy to Whataburger Field on Thursday evening.

The popular YouTube and TikTok star stopped by Islanders baseball practice ahead of this weekend’s Kleberg College Classic series, taking swings, sharing laughs with players and soaking in the South Texas baseball vibes at Whataburger Field.

“It inspired me to try to be at their level, not to try to be at my level, try to be at their level,” said Gianna Molfese of the BaseBroz YouTube and TikTok channel.

TAMU-CC Islanders head coach Scott Malone said the visit offered more than just social media moments for his team.

“My guys get out here for the first time and it’s Whataburger Field and it’s kind of a big deal for a lot of new guys and then you look over and you got a 10-year-old out here having fun and moving around with the guys,” Malone said.

“I think it reminds them it’s just a game, it’s supposed to be fun, so it’s kind of got a little double usage for us on the social side and I think it’s really fun for my guys to see him,” he added.

Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos and talk baseball with the online star during a meet and greet at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday during the Kleberg College Classic.
