SAN ANGELO, Texas (February, 19, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University used a hot-shooting second half to secure a 77-72 victory over Angelo State at the Junell Center on Thursday.

The Chaps shot a scorching 60 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes, including hitting 7-of-10 from behind the arc. Senior guard Kendall Dow led the effort, hitting all five of his three-point attempts in the period. He scored 15 of his game-high 24 points in the second half.

Lubbock Christian improves to 23-4 overall and 14-3 in Lone Star competition. Angelo State stands at 15-13 overall and 6-11 in the Lone Star conference.

Lubbock Christian never trailed in the game and spent less than two minutes of time tied. They opened the game with five straight points before ASU got on the board. The Chaps were never able to extend the lead very far though, as they struggled to shoot the three in the first half, hitting their first attempt and missing their next nine.

The Rams pulled within one at the midway point of the half and tied the game with just over eight minutes to go. An and-one layup from Lucas Mercandino and a a basket from Dow got the Chaps back in front. Still, ASU would not go away, and kept the deficit within a couple of points until a 6-0 run at the two minutes mark gave a little breathing room. It was a four-point lead for the visitors at the break.

LCU surged ahead in the second half with a series of key plays, getting three-pointers from both Amondo Miller Jr. and Dow in the first three minutes to set the tone. The Chaps kept pushing the offensive momentum and stretched the lead to double-digits with just over eight minutes to play on another basket from Miller.

The visitors led by as many as 13 in the half, but a 6-0 run by Angelo State with just over four minutes to go brought them within striking distance. LCU pushed the lead back out to 10 with just 50 seconds remaining, but back-to-back threes from ASU, the worst three-point shooting team in the LSC, in the final minute cut it back to four. But it was too little, too late for the Rams, who lost their third-straight game by single-digits.

Amondo Miller Jr. scored 21 points and recorded a double-double with 12 rebounds. Kendall Dow contributed 24 points, hitting six three-pointers and collecting two steals. Antonio Pusateri added 17 points, making eight field goals and pulling down seven rebounds.
