Legacy West and St. Andrew Methodist Church will help local teens in need say ‘yes’ to the perfect prom dress.
Prom season is upon us, with memory-making dances set to take place at schools across the city in weeks to come. Two Plano-area groups have renewed their annual calls for donations and volunteers to help local teens in need say ‘yes’ to the perfect dress. Read on for details.
St. Andrew’s Prom Closet
St. Andrew Methodist Church in Plano (1401 Mira Vista Blvd.) will host its 17th Annual Prom Closet, February 24-28 and March 2-5, and 7, 2026. Throughout these dates, teens from across the Metroplex in need of a prom dress are invited to make an appointment and shop at no cost.
To prepare for this year’s event, the St. Andrew Methodist Women are currently accepting donations of new and gently used prom dresses, shoes, jewelry, and handbags. Donations can be dropped off inside the church’s north entry doors. Volunteers are also needed to help with set-up, check-in, and to serve as personal shoppers. For more information call 469-385-1810 or email standrewpromcloset@gmail.com.
Legacy West’s Prom Dress Drive is held in partnership with Project Beauty
Legacy West Prom Dress Drive
The Legacy West annual Prom Dress Drive returns next month, in partnership with Metroplex-area nonprofit, Project Beauty. New and gently used dresses, accessories, and shoes, will be accepted during business hours at Albion Fit (7601 Windrose Ave., Suite F120) from March 1-13, 2026. Organizers note a special need this year for plus-size dresses.
Donations from the Legacy West drive will be distributed to teens across 14 area facilities served by Project Beauty, which specializes in providing styling services to women and children in shelters and transition homes. As a special thank-you, donors will receive an Albion Fit store discount and beauty gift, while supplies last.
