On Saturday, November 1, the Texas Radio Hall of Fame inducted 20 broadcasting legends at the Texas Broadcast Museum in Kilgore. The honorees represent a wide range of talent, from on-air personalities to programmers, executives, and engineers.
Jerry Reynolds, “The CarPro,” who has created and hosted his own call-in radio show for 20 years, was recognized for his impact on the broadcasting industry, as he has helped car buyers and owners navigate the ownership experience and learn to speak “car dealer language.”
The CarPro Show launched with radio pro Kevin McCarthy as Jerry’s sidekick. Kevin retired last year, and Todd Chambliss is Jerry’s other half.
He is heard nationwide, with his original station WBAP and KRLD in Fort Worth-Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and many more.
Jerry is a former police officer and high-profile Ford dealer who welcomes listeners’ calls with their automotive-related questions. He gained a reputation as a trusted source of automotive news, insider insights, and new car reviews.
He stays on top of the latest vehicle news by test-driving some of the most popular – and exotic – new cars, trucks, and SUVs. He recognizes that vehicles represent the second-largest purchase that most people make.
Before the ceremony, Jerry said, “I can’t thank everyone enough who took the time to vote and make this dream a reality. I’ve looked up to the members of the Hall for the entire 24 years I have been on the air. I am humbled and thankful for every single person who was a part of this!”
