FORT WORTH – Richard Leonard DeMeglio passed in his home on Sunday, February 15, 2026. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2026, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Memorial Suite A, 3344 White Settlement Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76107. Though Richard was born in Brooklyn, he got to Texas as fast as he could at 10 weeks old. Richard loved working on cars and as a hobby was a drag car racer before a crash forced him to change paths. Richard started his own bike trailer company called Road Runner Bike Trailers and worked for Bell Helicopter for 27 years as an assembly line mechanic, retiring in 1993. Not one for sitting still, he then went to work for West Way Ford in 1995 before ultimately settling at Park Cities Ford for the next several years, once again retiring in 2010. Richard loved everything mechanical and could fix almost anything. He always had the tool you needed and could talk you through how to do it. Richards happiest times were spent with his wife, two sons and grandchildren who he loved and cared for deeply. He was a devoted follower of Christ and attended Foundations Church where he enjoyed his time as a greeter. Richard is survived by his wife, Ramona; two sons, Rodney and Richie; five grandchildren, Rylee, Miles, Max, Logan and Hadley DeMeglio; and brother, Bill Burton. Richard DeMeglio will be greatly missed. GREENWOOD FUNERAL HOME Greenwood Funeral Homes – Cremation 3344 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, TX 76107 817-336-0584
