Police shot and injured a suspect Friday while serving a warrant in West Dallas.

Police said on X that SWAT officers were executing the warrant in the 1000 block of Shaw Street when they encountered a suspect with a gun.

“Shots were fired and suspect was injured,” police said, adding that no officers were injured.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., more than a dozen patrol vehicles lined Shaw Street, near North Winnetka Avenue, as two helicopters roared above the residential neighborhood.

Just beyond the crime scene tape blocking Winnetka Avenue, a gaggle of about 30 officers, several with rifles strapped to their chest, huddled around two unmarked white vans.

This is a developing story.

PIO and Commanders are en route to an officer-involved shooting in the 1000 block of Shaw Street.  No officers are injured.
