SAN ANTONIO (KLTV) – Van steer wrestler Holden Myers kicked off the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo by winning $1,101.
Myers finished fourth in round one with a time of 5.5 seconds to win the money. This season, Myers has earned $5,540.
“San Antonio’s been good so far,” Myers said Friday in an interview on East Texas Now. “So in the first three rounds, if you get qualified, you get to go a minimum of three times. And if you do good enough, the top four go to the semifinals out of each set. So I was able to qualify for the semis and I’ll be back there on next Friday for another run. And if I do good again, then I get to go to the finals.”
Carthage bareback rider Tilden Hooper won $4,404 in San Antonio. Hooper finished fourth in round one on a horse named “Emotional Girl” with a score of 84.5 points to win $1,652. In the third round, Hooper finished first on “Deputy Sue” with a score of 87 points to win $2,752. The 5th-ranked bareback rider in the world has earned $30,703 this season.

Crockett bull rider Boudreaux Campbell won $3,929 at two rodeos. At the Bell County PRCA Rodeo in Belton, Campbell finished third on “Boom Town” with a score of 86.5 points to win $1,911. In San Antonio, Campbell finished third on “Sting” with a score of 85 points to win $2,018. The No. 8-ranked bull rider in the world has earned $37,113 this season.
Marshall team roper Will Woodfin and teammate Cody Carter won $3,028 in San Antonio. The duo finished fourth in the second round with a time of 6.3 seconds to win $1,101. In the third round, the team finished second with a time of 4.7 seconds to win $1,927. The No. 2-ranked heeler in the world has earned $22,964 this season.
Athens tie-down roper Cutter Carpenter won $2,752 in San Antonio. He won the second round with a time of 8 seconds. This season, the 35th-ranked tie-down roper has earned $9,028.
