Texas State Board of Education

Eight members of the Texas State Board of Education are up for election this year, including districts 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13 and 14. The districts up for election in North Texas are 9, 13 and 14. District 2 is along the Texas Gulf Coast, District 5 is in the Hill Country, and Districts 6-8 are near Houston. District 9 covers Hunt, Rockwall and Kaufman counties and counties to the east; District 13 covers parts of Dallas and Tarrant counties and District 14 covers counties surrounding the Metroplex and to the south and southwest of DFW.
