Officials with the Town of Pantego have shut down a business after an incident involving gunfire in the establishment last Friday, according to a statement.
The business’ certificate of occupancy was revoked after “gunfire was discharged” during a private event on Feb. 13, according to the statement.
The statement did not name the business or contain specific details about the shooting, like whether anyone was injured, the nature of the private event, or names or descriptions of potential suspects.
“The Pantego Police Department Criminal Investigations Division continues to actively investigate this incident,” the statement reads. “Anyone with information that may help identify suspects or witnesses is encouraged to come forward.”
Officials also invited residents to make public comments on the matter at the town’s next council meeting, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 23. The matter is not on the official agenda and cannot be discussed during the meeting.
Pantego Police Chief Robert Rife could not immediately be reached for further details on Thursday afternoon.
