A major hotel fronting Interstate 37 is for sale on the north side of Corpus Christi, and its asking price has recently been reduced.
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Corpus Christi North, located at 929 N. Navigation Blvd., is looking for a new owner, according to a new report by Hotel News Resource, an online trade publication that tracks the hotel and hospitality industry. According to the outlet, the hotel’s owners have recently reduced their asking price to $6.9 million.
The hotel, which offers 64 “keys,” or rooms and suites, is located near several of Corpus Christi’s most popular tourist draws, including the Selena Museum, which is about a mile away, and the Texas State Aquarium, which is about four miles away, just across the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. It’s also close to the Corpus Christi International Airport.
“The 64-key hotel is strategically located near the Port of Corpus Christi, a vital hub for the U.S. oil and gas sectors,” Hotel News Resource reports.
Originally opened in June 2011, the hotel underwent “significant renovations” to bring its design notes in line with Holiday Inn’s more modern schematics, which the company calls “Formula Blue 2.0.
“We call our design style Purposeful Contemporary because it cleverly combines the practicalities our Smart Traveler requires with the fresh, thoughtful qualities they desire,” Holiday Inn wrote of the design style, which is highlighted by illuminated signage, iconic blue lighting, and a signature covered entrance. The design upgrades have helped the northside hotel remain strongly competitive with other nearby hotels, boasting an average annual revenue of nearly $1.9 million, according to Hotel News Resource.
Currently, the hotel is owned by a Rockport-based limited partnership called Express Navigation, according to Nueces County property tax records. During its most recent appraisal, the property’s proposed value was just over $5.8 million, but that figure was later adjusted to $4.15 million by the Nueces County Appraisal Review Board, county records show.
