AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin FC and Minnesota United played to a 2-2 draw to open the Major League Soccer season Saturday at Q2 Stadium.

Myrto Uzuni tapped in a Jon Gallagher header to give Austin a 2-1 lead in the 76th minute, only to have the Loons equalize in the 90th minute with a goal by Kelvin Yeboah.

Austin FC matches in 2026 to re-air on KBVO throughout MLS regular season

Brandon Hines-Ike broke the ice for Austin in the seventh minute, heading in a corner kick by Facundo Torres. Minnesota’s Morris Duggan made it 1-1 with a goal in the 40th minute.

Austin finished with 56% of the possession and 6 of its 10 shots being on target. Brad Stuver made two saves in the first half, parrying a Yeboah drive from outside the 6-yard box over the crossbar in the waning moments. His second save came just before Duggan tied the match, touching a bending shot by Tomás Chancalay behind the goal.

Drake Callender made four saves for Minnesota.

Austin hosts DC United at 1:30 p.m., March 1.
