SAN ANTONIO — Fire crews aggressively fought back flames at an abandoned house near the downtown area on Saturday night.
Firefighters were called just before 10 p.m. to the 400 block of Frio City Road near South Trinity Street.
According to the San Antonio Fire Department (SAFD), the building had extensive fire showing upon arrival. Crews were initially forced to fight the fire defensively due to questionable structural integrity.
They were eventually able to transition to an “aggressive” interior attack and got the fire under control in just under 45 minutes, SAFD said.
Officers on scene said the residence was abandoned and no injuries were reported.
