Swim and dive athletes from across the state compete in the the UIL State 5A Swimming and Diving State meet in Austin at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center on Saturday. Athletes from LASA, Ann Richards, Anderson and Georgetown , Weiss and Leander High Schools represent the Austin area.
Top area performances included Ben Jaggers, from Anderson High School, who earned two gold medals and a bronze. Jaggers and his relay team swam to gold in the 200-meter freestyle relay. LASA’s Elizabeth Bircher earned a gold medal in one-meter diving and Leander’s Brooke Frushour won a gold and a bronze.Â
