Flour Bluff’s tournament run continued when they took on Calhoun on Saturday. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sandcrabs, sneaking past 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

Bradley Terry made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn’t given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter’s box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Fisher Davis, who went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cruz Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial is still undefeated this season after their contest against Eagle Pass on Saturday, but Eagle Pass came as close as anyone has to beating them. Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial skirted past Eagle Pass 3-1.

Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial secured the win behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Trae Hernandez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. Ryan Morgan was another, earning two RBI and one stolen base.

Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters every time they’ve taken the field this season.
