AUSTIN, Texas — A man is dead after a shooting in northeast Austin early Saturday morning, and police do not have a suspect in custody.

APD says that officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 1400 block of East Rundberg Lane at the 1400 Apartments at around 3:05 a.m. Saturday.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with apparent trauma to his body at the scene. They began providing medical aid until responders with Austin-Travis County EMS and the Austin Fire Department arrived at the scene.

Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene at around 3:16 a.m.

There is no suspect in custody at this time, though police say that the incident is isolated and there is no known threat to the public.

This is Austin’s 10th homicide of 2026, according to police.
