A major crash has shut down several lanes on U.S. Highway 281 at San Pedro Avenue around 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 22, according to the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

The accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 281 at San Pedro. It has closed several southbound lanes, according to TxDOT’s incident report on its website.

TxDOT is asking drivers to use an alternate route as the highway is closed at this time.

Traffic monitoring website SigAlert reports that traffic is moving at about six miles per hour and is backed up to Nakoma Drive and Bitters Road. SigAlert reports to expect delays up to 20 minutes.
