COFFEY COUNTY, Kan. (WIBW) – More charges have been added and adjusted in a case against a Coffey County man accused of child sex crimes.
According to KVOE, an arraignment hearing in Burlington on Wednesday added four new counts in the case against Roy Anthony Hernandez, 46, of Angleton, Texas.
Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Coffey County Jail in November of 2025. A Coffey County attorney charged Hernandez with 22 counts of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy and aggravated indecent liberties involving two children between September 2013 and October 2015.
He was accused of:
2 counts of rape 1 count of aggravated sodomy 15 counts of indecent liberties against a 9-year-old 3 counts of rape and 1 count of indecent liberties with a 15-year-old
On Wednesday, new counts rearranged the previous ones. Now, he is charged with:
5 counts of indecent liberties 8 counts of sodomy 2 counts of rape against a 9-year-old 1 count of rape and 10 counts of indecent liberties with a 15-year-old
This adjusts to 26 counts total.
The new complaint also adjusted the timeframe of the alleged abuse from October 2014 to April 2016.
A hearing is set for May 7. A pretrial is set for June 4 and a jury trial on June 22.
