HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams traded scoreless frames early as Brian Cadieux worked around traffic and induced key outs, including a double play in the opening inning.
Texas Tech broke through in the fourth inning when Jesse Rusinek delivered a two-RBI double to give the Red Raiders a 2-0 lead.
UAlbany threatened in the fourth after Cooper Loyal doubled and Luke Filippi walked, but the Danes were unable to capitalize.
The Red Raiders added two more in the sixth on an RBI single from Robin Villeneuve and a run scoring on a defensive miscue to extend the lead.
Texas Tech pushed the advantage further in the seventh with a three-run frame highlighted by a two-RBI double from Linkin Garcia and an RBI single by Rusinek.
In the eighth, Texas Tech drew multiple walks and plated three runs to close out the scoring.
UAlbany was unable to generate offense late as Texas Tech secured the shutout, 10-0.

NEXT: The Great Danes head to Greenville, S.C., for the First Pitch Invitational at Fluor Field. There, they will face James Madison (Feb. 28), Michigan State (Feb. 28), and Illinois (Mar. 1).
