CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you’ve got a future CEO at home, Lemonade Day – Coastal Bend is gearing up for another sweet season.
Families kicked things off Saturday at Funtrackers Family Fun Center, where they learned how children ages 4 to 17 can start and run their own lemonade stand.
The nationally recognized program teaches real-world skills such as budgeting, marketing and customer service — all while building confidence and encouraging participants to give back to the community. Organizers say the program is expanding across the Coastal Bend this year.
“You’ll be seeing kids in Kingsville, and Alice, and Robstown, Banquete, Portland, and Ingleside this year. Big day is going to be June 20th here in the Corpus Christi area, so we’re looking for any student that wants to participate in the program. It is a free curriculum-based program for them. All of the kids keep their proceeds, so we encourage them to spend a little, save a little, and share a little throughout the program,” said Hope Rangel, vice president of economic empowerment with the Corpus Christi United Chamber of Commerce.
Registration remains open, and the program is free. Participants keep all the money they earn. For more information follow this link.
The big Lemonade Day celebration is set for June 20 in the Corpus Christi area. Community members are encouraged to come out, buy a cup and support young entrepreneurs as they turn sweet ideas into real-world experience.
