Garland is about to experience a circus unlike any it has seen before. On March 16 and 17, Garland Cultural Arts will host the North Texas premiere of Omnium Circus and its celebrated production, I’m Possible, at the Atrium in the Bankhead Cultural Arts District.
But this is not a traditional big-top spectacle. Omnium is redefining what circus performance looks like, centering inclusion, representation and extraordinary talent across all abilities. The result is a high-energy, emotionally resonant show that blends heart, humor and jaw-dropping skill.
A Circus That Redefines Ability
Headlining the production is Deaf singer-songwriter Mandy Harvey, an America’s Got Talent finalist and Golden Buzzer winner, alongside Deaf Ringmaster Malik Paris. The lineup also includes six-time Para Climbing World Cup Gold Medal Champion Melissa Ruiz and Special Olympics Silver Medal-winning aerial artist Danny Franzel.
The New York Times has described Omnium Circus as “genuinely extraordinary,” and audiences nationwide have embraced its life-affirming message.
The performance weaves storytelling with aerial artistry, acrobatics and music, creating a multi-generational experience designed to uplift and inspire.
Why It Matters For Garland
The premiere holds particular significance for Garland as the city strengthens its commitment to accessibility and inclusion through its newly formed All Abilities Commission. As the Granville Arts Center undergoes renovations to expand accessibility and modernize systems, hosting Omnium reflects a broader cultural shift toward ensuring everyone feels welcome in the arts.
“Hosting the North Texas premiere of Omnium Circus is especially meaningful for Garland,” said Amy Rosenthal, cultural arts firector for the city of Garland, in an official statement. “Omnium challenges traditional ideas of performance and ability, and we’re proud to celebrate that spirit here in Garland — where everyone belongs.”
