As North Texas braces for another round of severe weather, several Collin County school districts are adjusting their Friday night football schedules to keep players and fans safe.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is forecasting widespread storms across the region beginning Friday afternoon and continuing into the night. Meteorologists warn of the potential for damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding and even isolated tornadoes.
“Ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings and be ready to quickly alter plans, especially if outdoors,” the agency advised in its latest update.
With safety in mind, local school districts are moving up game times, or shifting contests to Thursday night, to avoid the worst of the storms.
