A former Montgomery County firefighter has been sentenced to four years in prison in Brazos County on child pornography charges.
BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas — A former firefighter has been sentenced to prison on child pornography charges in Brazos County, according to the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office.
According to the District Attorney’s Office, Kyle Simmons, a former firefighter for the East Montgomery County Fire Department, was sentenced to four years in prison on Feb. 12 for possession of child pornography.
Simmons had pled guilty to the charges in March 2025, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The District Attorney’s Office said Sergeant Adam Madore with the Office of Attorney General’s Child Exploitation Unit received a Cyber Tipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April 2020, alleging that Simmons had uploaded “several files of child pornography” onto his Google Drive.
After receiving a search warrant, Madore and other members of the Child Exploitation Unit raided Simmons’ house and seized all of his electronic devices. According to the District Attorney’s Office, a forensic search of the devices revealed a “large quantity of child pornography.”
The DA’s Office said Simmons admitted to Madore that he possessed a “large quantity of child pornography” and that he “specifically sought out photos of girls ages 11 to 13 years old.”
The search also reportedly found over 100 videos of Simmons engaging in sexual acts at his place of work.
The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office said Simmons had never been arrested before, and was fired from his job as a firefighter at the East Montgomery County Fire Department as a result of the offense.
The case was reportedly prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jordan Jordan and First District Attorney Brian Baker.
