Kansas started out slow, as their shooting struggles from Saturday vs. Cincinnati seemed like they carried over early in the game.
But the Jayhawks figured things out to close the first half, going on an 11-0 run to close the half, capped off with a Darryn Peterson floater just before time expired.
Peterson finished with 14 points in 30 minutes. Bryson Tiller yielded a double-double, tallying 11 points and 10 rebounds. Melvin Council Jr. also pitched in 11 points.

Kansas reeled off a 20-4 run in the 2nd half to build a 57-39 lead thanks to stifling defense. That momentum would carry them rest of the way to a 69-56 victory.
Houston has now lost three straight games for the first time since 2017. Freshman guard Kingston Flemings led the way for the Cougars with 16 points.
Bill Self moves to 41-0 on Big Monday at Allen Fieldhouse. It’s their third win over a top five team this season. Kansas has also not lost back to back home games since 1989.
The Jayhawks improve to 21-7 overall and 11-4 in the conference. They have another gigantic matchup in a rematch on the road against Arizona on Saturday at 3 p.m.
