DENTON – The UNT men’s basketball team begins a two-game road trip Wednesday at Charlotte.

The Mean Green (16-12, 7-8) and 49ers (14-13, 8-6) are scheduled to tip off at 6 p.m. CT from Halton Arena. The game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield on KHYI 95.3 FM and on ESPN+.

UNT trails the all-time series history against Charlote 8-10. Wednesday will be the first meeting between the two schools this season. The Mean Green won the last matchup 75-64 in Denton last season. North Texas has not beaten the 49ers in Halton Arena since Feb. 2, 2019. They have lost three straight games in Charlotte and in all three of those loses they were held under 50 points.

After Wednesday’s contest North Texas travels to UAB on Sunday for its last road game of the regular season.

WON BY ONE

North Texas defeated Florida Atlantic on Sunday 73-72. UNT has played in nine games this year decided by 3 points or less. No team in the American has played in more one possession games than UNT and only three teams in the country (UMass, Northwestern State and Wagner) have played in more than the Mean Green. UNT is 6-3 in games this year decided by one possession. The program record for most one possession games in a single UNT season is 11 set by both the 2006-07 and 2017-18 UNT teams.

500 POINTS SCORED

UNT sophomore guard Je’Shawn Stevenson enters Wednesday just 13 points shy of becoming just the sixth different UNT sophomore or freshman ever to score 500+ points in a single season and only the 26th different UNT player overall.

100 STRAIGHT

Dylan Anrett enters Wednesday having made 100 consecutive starts dating back to 2023. Arnett has started every game since the start of his sophomore season.

WINS BY FIRST-YEAR MEAN GREEN COACH

New UNT head coach Daniyal Robinson has secured so far 16 regular season wins. It’s the third-most regular season wins by a UNT coach in their first season.
