Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed all southbound lanes were closed along U.S. 75 at George Bush shortly after 6:30 a.m.

PLANO, Texas — A crash and apparent vehicle fire shut down all lanes of southbound U.S. 75 at President George Bush Turnpike during rush hour Tuesday morning, officials said.

Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed all southbound lanes were closed along U.S. 75 at George Bush shortly after 6:30 a.m. Cameras also showed apparent smoke and flames coming from a vehicle involved in the crash.

One lane of traffic had re-opened by 7 a.m., cameras showed.

Plano police said officers were called around 6:20 a.m. to a “serious crash” on U.S. 75 involving a vehicle that lost control, flipped over and caught on fire. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle, and fire crews were able to put the fire out, police said.

Traffic was being diverted to the Turnpike. 

No life-threatening injuries were reported.
